The first thing I think of when Italy comes to mind is food – well, food and wine. Our most recent trip to Cortona, Italy, proved to be more wonderful and delicious than I could have ever imagined. We stayed less than five minutes from the main village at the magnificent Villa Marsili. The close proximity to the rustic Italian village proved to be an advantage to our appetites, if a disadvantage to our waistlines.
But alas, until I can return to my favorite city in the world, I am on a constant quest to cook as much French food and recreate the unique culinary experiences as much as possible. No, this is not a Julia Child project where I cook everything in her cookbook and blog about it, then a major movie is made and I become rich and famous. No, I simply want to recreate my own love of Paris and all things French in my own home.
Here’s the thing about Sandals though. I think if you don’t have the butler level of service you don’t really have the experience that Sandals advertises. For example, our butler would reserve a beach cabana everyday for us. Those that didn’t have a butler had to get up before the sun in order to secure a spot on the beach. On the flip side, however, if you were unable to get to the beach in time there was always plenty of room at both pools and myriad activities to keep you entertained
