The weird third person bio written myself:
Margo Millure is the publisher and editor of The Travel Belles. She is a former full time freelance writer and magazine editor.
She adored (humm… does “adored” sound too smaltzy?) that line of work, however she became increasingly frustrated over the years with less pay for writing about fewer and fewer things that she found herself drawn to write about (maybe shouldn’t mention my rep as rampant editorializer?) Besides traveling and writing, another one of her passions is working with and encouraging writers to tell the travel stories they want to tell.
Why travel?
Margo and her husband, Dave, lived as expats in Holland and in France for several years two decades ago (wow, that was a long time ago!) They had the opportunity to explore and fall in love with their surroundings in great detail. Whether you’re talking about a good book or a fabulous trip, she thinks the good stuff is always found in the details. She loves writing about all of them, and providing a beautiful place for others to do the same.
Since those expat days Margo enjoys taking off as often as possible to various corners of the earth whether they be near her own backyard or halfway around the world. She believes nothing else comes close to getting out of town every now and then, as a means to fully appreciate and engage with the amazing world we live in. She’s full of ideas about great places to travel and smart travel tips for women. She believes the best travel resources come in the form of friends.
Much the way she enjoys working with writers, she enjoys encouraging her readers to go for their travel dreams, no matter what their life stage or situation in life.
Last but not least, her favorite “job” is being mother to her two teenage daughters and supportive corporate spouse to Dave.
And last for real this time, she feels the need to repeat that she thinks bios written in the third person are strange.
