Kate Turner and Margo Millure in Vogogna, Italy, last year on our first Belles’ Trip

The Travel Belles was conceived in response to my own frustration when taking to the Internet to find appealing travel information and inspiration. I found that many of the things I came across about travel for women were either too generic, or not quite personal or lighthearted enough for my taste.

As a woman with a wide variety of friends demographically speaking, I wanted something just  a little bit different – something occupying the space between a personal travel blog and a generic travel website, that would be appealing to a broad base of intelligent women.

Over the past several years I, along with all the fabulous belles and beaus who have made their way into The Travel Belles, have succeeded in doing exactly that.

We’re not going anywhere, but personal and professional demands have led me to set Travel Belles on a new course. Going forward you’ll find fewer contributors, but several of your favorites will still be making appearances here and there. I’ll be contributing more often about places that I have and will be visiting. The tone is apt to get a little more personal. Additionally we’ll be placing more of our editorial focus on the locations where we will be planning small group trips in partnership with Well Designed Journeys.

And of course in our archives you will discover a wide variety of  places covered in the unique voices of women (and a few men) from around the world.
