During my year in the Spanish capital of Madrid, I saw it all: the human mosaic formed for the 2016 Olympic bid in September, the leaves fall from the trees in autumn, the snowy streets during the January freeze, the Easter parades of figures of the Virgin Mary around the city, the victory parade of the World Cup winners.
Boredom was a foreign concept to me; one year wasn’t enough time to try out even half of the city’s chic restaurants or visit all its sights, let alone do more than scratch the surface of its cultural scene.
No matter what season it is, Madrid is a city that never stops – it merely slows down long enough for a tapa and a glass of vino.

One year in a European city would be a dream. I haven’t been to Madrid but it’s got the vibe like Barcelona, I doubt it would even stop for tapas!
